Let Me Tell You Why – Diving Into One of the Top Foodie Newsletters
Foodie Spotlights, Interviews, and Travels With Jeremy Jacobowitz
The internet is full of food. We just can’t get enough of it.
But social algorithms can get in the way sometimes, so food influencer Jeremy Jacobowitz decided it’s time to bring his tasty adventures to the inbox with his Let Me Tell You Why newsletter.
Let Me Tell You Why is the newsletter for foodies.
Founded by longtime food influencer Jeremy Jacobowitz, the newsletter covers his latest videos, interviews, and tasty finds.
Why Listen to Me? I’ve generated over $1 million with email and written over 1,000 blog posts. I run Storey Time, a newsletter where I teach people how to become freelance copywriters. Feel free to reach out to me on X (Formerly Twitter) anytime!
What Is the Let Me Tell You Why Newsletter?
So what exactly is the Let Me Tell You Why newsletter all about?
Jacobowitz shared, “The newsletter is a way to dig deeper into my food adventures all over the world! It’s an extension of all my videos.”
Each newsletter is themed around his most recent video from the week before where he shares his latest foodie discoveries, what he’s excited about, and deep dive stories on chefs. He also adds in the latest restaurant news and his thoughts and musings.
Jacobowitz shared, “I try to keep the newsletter structured enough, but also a place I'm willing to experiment with.”
So why did Jacobowitz launch the newsletter when he has an audience of over 500,000 on social media platforms?
He shared, “The newsletter is for people who want to know even more! To superserve my best fans.”
But that’s not all. The reality is that social media algorithms can be great one day and not-so-great another day, which is why creators need a reliable platform to ensure that they can communicate with their audience and own that relationship when they need to.
Jacobowitz explained, “The way the algorithms work nowadays, there is almost no way for everyone to see everything I posted that week, so the newsletter is a great way to get all of my content directly into people's mailboxes, in case they missed anything! Plus, of course, I have the interviews and news, which they can only get in the newsletter.”
Jacobowitz shared, “I try to think of my content strategy in a 360 way, so the newsletter is meant to live alongside my normal content, as opposed to being exactly the same or something completely different. That makes my life so much easier when I'm trying to come up with topics to discuss in each newsletter.”

Launching the Podcast & Merchandise
Jacobowitz has been a longtime creator on social platforms, but recently began tapping into deeper branding initiatives.
He launched his newsletter in 2024 to fortify his audience and ensure that they get to see the content he puts out, and he’s recently been able to leverage his newsletter to promote his podcast and new merchandise to his audience.
Jacobowitz shared, “The newsletter is also a great place to push other aspects of my business. I launched a merch line alongside the newsletter and relaunched my podcast as a companion piece as well.”
Jacobowitz has been happy with his newsletter growth so far, especially because of engagement tools like beehiiv polls. With polls, you can ask your audience anything like what kind of content they’d like to see in the newsletter.
And, with just one-click, your audience’s answers are recorded in beehiiv’s dashboard, so you can analyze the insights and optimize your content.
Jacobowitz remarked, “I've been really happy with growth! I’ve been getting steady growth every week! And I'm still dialing in on exactly what my audience wants, so it's interesting to see what makes them sign up that week or not!”
We asked Jacobowitz to break down what makes his newsletter unique.
His secret? Leveraging beehiiv’s design features and interviewing the minds behind his tasty finds.
Jacobowitz shared, “Thanks to you guys, the newsletter looks amazing! I love how it's formatted and how it pops off the screen compared to others I follow! I also think having been in the food influencer world for such a long time.”
The design helps capture Jacobowitz’s reader’s attention and keep them engaged all the way through, but what keeps them coming back is the content within that design.
"I've been able to immediately get incredible interviews for the newsletter. Dominique Ansel is a legend! I was able to get one of the fastest rising star sushi chefs in the world on it. I love that I can dig deeper into these meals than a 90-second video would ever let me do!” commented Jacobowitz.
We asked Jacobowitz if he wanted to mention anything else to wrap up the interview, and he generously shared a tasty food guide for your next trip to Japan!
He shared, “If you love food and travel, you will love this! I’m based in NYC, so I’ve got a lot of coverage there; but I travel all over the world constantly! Planning a trip right now to go back to Korea and Japan!”
